A unique tour that combines walking and cycling with a boat ride. Being with a short city circuit walk to view some of the City's colonial architecture. Boat across the Sangke river to visit a Buddhist monastery and pagoda where you will get an idea of a monk's daily life. Next, hop on a of our bikes and let our guide take on you an interactive tour of Battambang historical downtown, with rich explanations of the area's history and dynamic contemporary arts' scene, Cambodian culture and urban planning. A few highlights include the old governor's residence, a 1960s movie theater that has been renovated new art galleries in historic buildings and a special look at Battambang history through videos, maps and photographs through an interactive storyboard.
itinerary details
Pick up from a hotel by tuk tuk and meet up at the battambang bike at 7:45am. bike and helmet fitted, introduction about a tour program and guide. Film footage, tour of 1960s historical buildings (on foot).
Part 1: walking/boat tour Tour of Psar Nat at 8:00am (Nat market) and local coffee drinks, snacks, seasonal fruits, in a market. After that, boat to Wat Povil (Povil pagoda). tour around a complex buildings, meet monks and have a water blessing from them. Part 2: Bicycle Tour Pick up the bikes at Phsar Nat (Nat market), tour of the provincial museum where is around 1000 artifacts are kept and excavated around Battambang. then visit a peaceful monument (Naga statue) which made of AK gun collected from resident of Battambang. carry out to visit Governor's house/Old stone bridge. Riding further down away from town to see the cultural village (Wat Kor), stop at traditional house (restored traditional Khmer home from early 1900s). On the way back to town, we will stop at a black statue which the entire story of Battambang affected. Return to the Battambang Bike. tour facts
